Amino acids – the basic building blocks of proteins
Proteins are made up of amino acids. While a protein supplement provides complete proteins, amino acid supplements contain selected amino acids directly, either individually or in precisely formulated combinations.
Among the best known are BCAAs – leucine, isoleucine and valine. A broader spectrum is provided by EAAs, which contain all nine essential amino acids that the human body cannot produce on its own. In addition to these blends, you can also choose products focused on individual amino acids.
BCAA or EAA?
BCAAs consist of only three essential amino acids, while EAAs include the full spectrum of essential amino acids. If you are looking for a more comprehensive amino acid supplement, the key difference is therefore not the flavour or packaging format, but its composition.
