Sometimes you are looking for a specific vitamin, at other times a mineral or a combination of several micronutrients in a single product. Vitamins and minerals are involved in a wide range of everyday bodily functions – from energy metabolism and nervous system function to the function of muscles, bones and the immune system.
In addition to single-ingredient products such as vitamins C and D, magnesium, zinc or iron, you can also choose B-complexes, multimineral and multivitamin products. The differences are not only in the amount of the active ingredient, but also in its chemical form, dosage and combination with other ingredients.
More does not automatically mean better. When choosing, it makes sense to base your decision on the actual need to supplement a specific nutrient and to follow the recommended daily dosage. For some vitamins and minerals, excessive intake can instead be undesirable.
